Bruce Springsteen, born September 23, 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey, is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is one of the most popular artists in the United States. He grew up in Freehold. One evening, Bruce stumbles upon a performance by Elvis Presley. It is a revelation, captivated by the gestures of the "King". Another revelation was the lyrics of Bob Dylan, whose poetic virtuosity was then unheard of in rock 'n' roll. He would later declare: in the same way that Elvis freed bodies, Bob freed minds. Springsteen then had only one idea in mind: to devote himself, body and soul, to music. His mother gave him his first guitar. He spends entire days composing and strumming his guitar, despite his father's reluctance. Springsteen perseveres and, after a few solo attempts, he begins to perform with a variety of often varying bands: the Castiles, Dr. Zoom & the Sonic Boom, the Bruce Springsteen Band and Steel Mill. One of "The boss" is born.
