ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a painting of my mother dancing Buchaechum, a traditional Korean fan dance. While painting, I remember the fun I had dancing the fan dance in Elementary school in Korea.The beautiful dance is usually with a group of people creating dynamic movement together in spirit and through rhythmic body and fan movement. I wanted to express the elements of sky, mountain, earth, air, and fire while interpreting Korean energy on Korean traditional clothing called Hanbok. I hope you get inspired and find joy within the art work to connect and celebrate beautiful Korean's culture.
