My artwork manifests the ultimate power of life-giving water, flowing and interacting with pigment and paper it brings paintings to life. Painting alla prima in watercolour allows to create expressive visual effects unmatched by any other media. I paint without a pencil sketch, but create multiple paintings as I work out the composition. This way I can express interaction with the subject in the most raw and honest way. Karina Ellsworth (Kozina) is a Ukrainian artist based in Canada. Karina spent most of her adult life traveling the world, experiencing rich cultures of the east and the west, absorbing natural beauty of our planet and gathering inspiration. In the last ten years she lived in Russia, China, Japan and Canada where she has been working as a full time artist and an art teacher. For the past three years Karina has been teaching on-line art courses with over 6000 students attending her drawing and painting workshops. Karina is currently living in Ontario, Canada where she works in her private studio. In her art Karina explores themes of raw emotion and connection, and our ability, as viewers and artists, to experience beauty and find balance.
