Oil painting on canvas. Originally, the inspiration was the chess player and the movie "Queen's Gambit". While the painting was being painted, the war in Ukraine began. A calm, focused composition turned into a strategic battlefield. This is not, of course, an allegory of war, but rather a picture of powerlessness. The subject of chess and strategy, concentration and trying to solve problems.

Rafał Chojnowski (born 1966). Painter and designer. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (currently Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts) at the Faculty of Painting, in the studio of prof. Andrzej Klimczak Dobrzaniecki and prof. Konrad Jarodzki. He studied graphic art at the Camden School of Art in London. He lives and works in Wrocław. His works are, among others in collections: USA, England, Austria, Poland and Portugal. He has participated in many exhibitions, both individual and collective, in Poland and abroad
