In this piece I explore the painful nature of childbirth. So often the images presented around the event are moments of beauty, serenity and glowing afterbirth, but the reality is far from this representation. It's contortion and screaming mixed with blood, hair, and torn, hypoxic flesh. The true image of childbirth is grotesque, painful and even macabre.
