The painting shows the disturbing night sky over Ukraine with the bright light of the moon, as a general image of the anxiety and insecurity of many Ukrainians during the war. But at the same time, bright flashes of light sometimes appear, as in the foreground of this work, which give hope and faith that everything will be fine, the war will end, peace and harmony will come. Smoke and light in the window of the house in the depth of the composition of the plot also add some homely warmth. This symbolizes that our future depends first on God, and then on us, people, on the extent to which we can show the best features of our souls: love, kindness, mutual support, etc. The painting is made in an expressive style of thick application of oil paints, it is my personal way of dealing with stress, when I paint in this way it becomes easier for me. At some stages of the work, I applied paint exclusively with my fingers, performing specific movements hitting the paint clots on the painting from a certain distance. I invented my own unique way of applying paints inspired by Jackson Pollock's method of abstract expressionism, which is called "action painting". I am Ukrainian artist Andrii Kovalyk. Now I live in Spain In my work, I explore energy as the foundation of life. When I paint, I often use my fingers instead of a brush, becoming a direct conduit for this energy, as if I am a tool in the hands of higher forces. My experience as an icon painter has deeply influenced my contemporary art: the gold in my works symbolizes the Divine light, connecting the material and spiritual worlds. For me, nature is not merely a physical landscape but a manifestation of sacred energy. Inspired by the wisdom of saints, I aim to convey harmony through my art, offering the viewer a sense of inner peace and spiritual cleansing. My works represent a dialogue between earth and sky, time and eternity, where each stroke becomes part of this conversation. My bicycle travels across various countries have enriched my worldview, allowing me to capture the pristine beauty of nature through paints. I strive to show the viewer that hidden beauty exists in every moment, and through art, one can touch this harmony. My work is an invitation to contemplation, a dialogue with something greater that transcends the ordinary. I believe that the boundaries between the possible and the impossible are illusory. My paintings are a way to reveal this understanding, to show the world as it truly is: infinite and filled with energy that nourishes us all.
