Caravana Print

This is an oil on canvas that I painted in 2019 while I was working in a solo exhibition called En el Relato de Otros (about the family album) for Léucade Gallery (Murcia, Spain). Later the same exhibition was showed in Movart Gallery, Madrid. In the Exhibition I wanted to show how the Identity is build up, partially, by the family memories, by the family adults that are the ones that collect pictures of your childhood and show them to you years later with a story. So yes, this is a picture of my childhood. These are my brother (left) and I (right) sleeping peacefully in the caravan we used to go on vacation to the Pyrinees. The interesting thing here is that my brother and I used to fight a lot, but this picture decontextualised tells a very different story, almost a fiction. That was the idea behind the exhibition, how this pictures we take buid a fiction that end up feeding our identity.
