He was engaged in architecture and design of holiday homes, cafes, restaurants. He designed the interiors of the Military Medical Academy, Center for the Arts. Mravinsky. He built about 120 pumping stations, 4 dams. He received the State Prize for one of the dams - the Gilevsky site of the Alei River. Seriously studied Old Russian art. He delved into the stylistic features and techniques of writing Russian and Byzantine icons from the 12th to the 20th century. He was engaged in the restoration of icons. He himself wrote about 350 icons. Two of them are in the collection of the Vatican. For these icons he received a medal from Pope John Paul II. In the 70s he began to engage in modern painting, thereby expanding knowledge in the visual arts. He worked in different techniques: painting, drawing, stained glass, mosaic, ceramics, etc. All this helped to understand what painting is with a capital letter. Credo: “Painting is not only a harmonious composition of color spots, lines, textures, etc. it is a blob of creative energy, a personal state at the moment, that spills onto paper and canvas. The picturesque language is constantly changing, evolving, but of course it is based on centuries-old traditions. Painting is the most universal direction in the visual arts. It has unlimited possibilities for the transmission of the inner world and state of the creator. " The result of the analysis and searches in abstract (non-objective) painting was the creation of the following areas: “Abstract Baroque” and “Transcendental Realism” - a combination of abstract spots with a graphic line. Color excites emotional state, composition and drawing (line) - literary-plot interpretation. According to this principle, Pobozhensky V.Ya. created a cycle of mythological and biblical scenes, landscapes, still lifes. The main invention of the master is the creation of the New Icon "The Resurrected Canon". This is an "old song, sung in a new way." The principle is a combination of an abstract color spot with a linear pattern (passage) introduced into the plot-mythological space of the icon (iconography). But, of course, the main artistic component of painting in the first place is its spirituality. “Each person has his own life philosophy, his own view of the world. Its expressions are different. In creative individuals, this is expressed through music, poetry, painting. The desire of the artist to self-improvement, the search for truth (the essence of man) leads to spirituality in painting. Otherwise, everything depicted without it on canvas, blackboard, paper is nothing more than a beautiful picture. ” Vyacheslav Pobozhensky participated in more than 150 group and solo exhibitions in Russia, Finland, Sweden, France, Majorca, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, England, USA, South Africa, China, etc. Here are some of them: 1983 - The first exhibition of the TEII "Association of Experimental Fine Arts", Palace of Youth, Leningrad; 1984 - Exhibition TEII "The Edge of the Portrait", House of Culture.
