ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The work was inspired by "the most beautiful woman in town", a tale written by Bukowski. The protagonist of the tale is Cass, who I imagined as a blonde woman with a cigarette always between her fingers. What the painting is trying to transmit is the sense of devastation and depression felt by Cass when she understands that nobody really cares about her or her feelings. Everybody only cares about her beauty and her body. Everyone but Charles. On her neck there's a scar drawn with a red ballpoint pen as an omen for what will happen next.
