Phung Wang is a contemporary Vietnamese artist whose work reinterprets traditional Vietnamese folk art through minimalist composition, geometric abstraction, and contemporary Cubist language. Rooted in Vietnamese cultural memory, her paintings explore the poetic intersection of heritage, form, and emotion. Deeply influenced by the visual intelligence of Vietnamese folk art, Wang transforms traditional aesthetics into refined contemporary compositions that feel both timeless and modern. Her artistic practice is shaped by a dialogue between cultural heritage and modern visual language, drawing inspiration from both Vietnamese folk traditions and major artistic movements such as Cubism and modern abstraction. Phung Wang has exhibited extensively in Vietnam and internationally, including exhibitions in Thailand, Germany, and the Netherlands. Her works are held in private collections across the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Widely collected by international collectors—particularly in the United States—her works resonate through their distinctive fusion of Vietnamese folk aesthetics, minimalist geometry, and emotional depth.
