ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was highly inspired by the authenticity of Indian and Bangladeshi women, especially their saree. I wanted to capture the drapery well. The photograph was taken by Sushobhan Sarkar from Dhaka. The painting captures the mood of the model and sets the viewer's eyes on the folds and depth in the drapery of the saree.

Namman Shroff has a diploma in Fine Arts and is an Architect by profession. He has a childlike curiosity and granular approach towards creation. In his current explorations, he juxtaposes flat medium work with lightweight cantilevered lattices of wood and bamboo sculpture - combining his dual training in fine art and architecture. He considers everything an experiment and tries to gauge how the viewer responds to his work. This kind of 'user experience' is very important for him.
