ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The artwork is ready to hang. My inspiration is about colors, the interplay and how they understand each other. The combination of colors is very important to me, they need to display the same level of importance, none of them being of a higher importance, all the colors involved are essentials. This work was inspired in the current global pandemic, in which chaos is everywhere in different manners. The contemporary order is that no order exists! I hope my work reflects my feelings and sensations. I chose acrylic because it is a modern medium that can show better the modern world and can show clearly the accelerated world in which we are living. With acrylic one needs to work quickly!

Virginia achieved an outstanding career in finance, while the art path always was perceived as a second choice. She is Accountant, also she obtained a Master in Economic History (UBA) and a double degree in MBA (ITBA / EOI). She joined the banking industry, living between Barcelona and Buenos Aires, places where past several years building her career in project management until 2020, when she decided leave away the corporate world and became a full time artist. At the same time, she did not neglect the plastic arts and developed different painting and sculpture workshops in the both cities where she has lived. She also studied at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires. Artistic Statement: Virginia's varied collections in seemingly different styles –Colors –Figures –Lines, come together through a focus on color. All her paintings have color as a common factor regardless of the support in which she works; the curves can be seen as an imperceptible one connector thread between them. She works primarily in oil that has been her dominant medium for years, although she has also dabbled in acrylic and mixed media using different materials to achieve more controlled texture and relief.
