I was not always an artist. My initial preparation lies in the field of microbiology. In which, I am still teaching at the Université de Sherbrooke, in the French-speaking part of Canada. Yet, the artistic expression was never too far from my thoughts. Having a scientist father and an artist mother, I guess it was inevitable that those two fields somehow went hand in hand. For few years, after finishing my Master degree, I have worked as a freelance graphist, illustrator, and 3D animator. But, it was after finishing my postdoctoral studies in microbiology that I started painting. Since then, I created in acrylics, oils and mixed mediums on canvas and as prints on paper from digital art. Back to a student-side of reality, I am currently pursuing a graduate program in Contemporary Art at the Université de Sherbrooke. Like a tree seeded then transplanted to grow new roots, I was born and raised in Poland, but I also lived in France, USA and Quebec. This is probably why, although I touched on different subjects and styles, my main interest lies in the question of how we perceive and interpret a reality around us and especially a reality associated with identity. In my artistic approach, I question this perception. It is the same for you as it is for me? Does it exist in an unbiased form? How reality relates to time?
