Uluwatu is a little jewel of an island in the far south of Bali. In February 2021, when this image was made, there are few people other than the local islanders. Dark swallows swoop overhead and there is space to sit and just watch the beauty of nature. I've been painting in a hot but magical place, with the sea breeze encompassing itself around everything. I hope to have managed to translate a bit of that magic into oil!
