About the Artist

Grace Camille Lee

United Kingdom

Drawing influence from conceptual ideas of the ‘archive’, my current practice engages, not only with excavating the evolving connections and disconnections of archival objects, but also our own continued preoccupation with collection and documentation. The archive, being founded on the threat of destruction and loss, acts as a preface in examining the anxieties that surround impermanence, and introduces a possible dialogue between an unfinished past and an imagined future. This anachronistic exploration of time leads the finished work to be not so much about excavation as it is construction.
