About The Artwork

Con Figure is an interpretive portrait that portrays the active psycho-spiritual contemplation that precedes transformation. The painting utilizes a concentration of darkness and texture to depict mind out of matter. Paint is applied in translucent glazes, opaque strokes, and textural application to keep the eye reading around the entire pictorial plane.

Jacqueline F. Moore is a fine art painter, muralist, meditator, composer, and depth psychotherapist. Born in the greater Los Angeles area, she has traveled through many countries across the world seeking to build an inner relationship to the illness and trauma that alters her life journey. Healing has been a primary focus in her life bringing her in contact with many modalities, lifestyles, and theoretical orientations. While working towards her Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, she found that the act of painting itself, sitting with the tactile texture of the brush across a surface, observing the interaction of colors, and building the progressive construction of composition was deeply engaging, mirroring a subtle process of internal senses and energies. During her time at the Academy of Art University, she began practicing yoga and meditating. In 2014 she was attuned to level 2 Reiki. In 2015 she completed a 500-hour yoga teacher training specializing in alignment, somatic experience, and meditation. She has backpacked extensively through the Sierra Nevada mountain range, summited Mt. Shasta, explored the King Range National Conservation Area, and began el Camino de Santiago in Spain. The physical engagement of hiking and the synchronicities of nature revealed many visionary states. Across her travels through Latin America, she experienced a vibrational shift through music and culture that brought her ancestral lineage into focus. She composed and curated the musical project ‘Maya Lumen’ expressing the sound of these vibrations. She went on to complete her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2021. Her thesis Expressive Awareness culminates research that describes the relationship between C.G. Jung’s construct of the psyche, the principles of mindfulness as described in the Satipattana sutta, and the creative arts process. Maya Lumen’s first EP Ellipsis and her body of work Beyond the Void provide an experiential aspect to this research. Jacqueline currently works as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in trauma resolution, mood disorders, and spiritual development.
