About The Artwork

Inspired by the colonial events that occurred in the Nusantara (Indonesia) in the era before independence where there were many injustices experienced by this nation (Indonesia). This work describes 2 of the 3 holiest places for Muslims (Grand Mosque / Kaaba and Al-Aqsa Mosque), Sang Saka Merah Putih Flag, Surabaya City as well as the car of the British military commander, Brigadier Mallaby, the Palestinian flag and a handcuffed Palestinian. Using oil paint on canvas with realist techniques and bright and warm colors with the aim of highlighting the atmosphere of the spirit of struggle at that time so that hopefully it can more or less influence connoisseurs of this work. Whatever the visuals of this work have a common thread and are closely related to each other. Kaaba and Masjid Al-Aqsa fellowship (Muslims), Indonesia is still a dream (in its time) or Palestine today which is a reflection of Indonesia's past.

Born in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia Luthfi spent his childhood until his early 20s searching for his identity, exploring numerous interests without knowing who he truly wanted to become. It was at the right moment when he discovered art, particularly fine art, which ignited a deep passion within him. Art became both a necessity for his life and a way to satisfy his heart and stomach. His creations are a reflection of his profound awareness and responsibility towards God and fellow human beings, disregarding any toxic views or art classifications imposed by others. In recent years he has been actively participating in regional, national and international exhibitions and struggling to exist in the history of art.
