I was inspired to paint this piece to mimic the copper patinas that I strive for creating on my copper jewelry. Can you see and feel the elements that happen naturally in the outdoors on the Copper and Turquoise flowing across the painting, adding a rustic elegance to it? Ready to hang

I am Linda Hamilton, and I've been painting professionally for the last 18 years, I am also a metal smith and jewelry designer. I paint in many different styles and mediums but enjoy primarily abstract expressionism, I express in color and texture whatever is in my heart. I was born and raised in Colorado, and I've been married for 41 years, my husband, Don, and I have raised three sons and now have 8 grandchildren, Don and I moved to Tucson Arizona in 2018 where we now spend a lot of time outdoors, traveling and in our studios, yep, he is a painter too. I work out of my home studio most of the time, occasionally painting outdoors, en plein air. I apply multi-media, modeling paste, plaster, and paint intuitively, layer upon layer, color, and texture until instinctively arriving at a desirable result. I want every piece of my work to bear the imprint of my impulse or decision, each layer of paint adds a new dimension, inviting a relationship with the previous one, mimicking rust, mineral build-up, and patinas on metal and rock, the wonderful elements that happen naturally in the outdoors, The creative process involves a balance between intuitive mark-making and careful deliberation of luscious textures and colors. My husband and I also teach privately and instruct large groups for a fun experience. Inspiration is drawn from naturally occurring patinas and colors of mineral buildup over time in the outdoors as well as marks we leave behind us.
