About The Artwork

We took an amazing family adventure to Costa Rica. We stayed at a villa of a local artist near the volcano national park. The artist had an amazing garden of local flowers in the back of the property. Took some amazing pictures that ultimately inspired a series of 3 interconnected paintings: White Lilly, Red Torch Ginger, and the Red Hibiscus. What an amazing country and some wonderful people we met along the way.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, my family and I have since adventured across the country. Having lived in Nevada, Delaware, Florida, Texas and now Ohio, we have been able to see many parts of the country. We've also spent some time traveling abroad and have been fortunate to experience the various cultures and communities throughout. Many of those experiences influence my art today. I was an amateur artist in my youth, having aspirations to become a professional artist. Somehow, I missed that turn on the road of life and entered the corporate world. Strange enough, designing organizational structures, building budgets, financial models, and client presentations feels like its own kind of artwork. During COVID, my wife encouraged me to sign up for an outdoor socially distant painting class. It was a great opportunity to take a break from the COVID stress and get outside with some fresh air. That experience reinvigorated the artist in me and after a 20 year artist block, I began a new journey in oil painting. I've learned so much over the last couple of years and yet I feel I have so much more to learn. I try to do some sort of art exercise every other day as I love the mental peace it provides. Hopefully, you enjoy my various works and mediums as I continue to explore different artistic avenues chasing that zen ;)
