After a short career as a graphic designer, he switched to music and performed worldwide, gave masterclasses, and became a professor at the Conservatorium of Rotterdam. Inspired by stillness, spaciousness, and dynamics, his choice to paint birds and seascapes, as a transmitter to the openness, came naturally.
