My artistic journey began later in life as a deeply personal exploration of creativity and emotional expression. As a self-taught artist, I have always embraced experimentation, allowing my work to evolve naturally through different materials, textures, and visual languages. For many years, I painted vibrant animals, florals, and expressive landscapes inspired by nature and the changing seasons. Colour, movement, and storytelling were central to my practice. Following a period of serious illness, my work began to shift. The experience brought a quieter, more introspective perspective, leading me toward sculptural portraiture. I became increasingly interested in inner worlds — the unseen emotions, resilience, memory, and the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength. Today, I create mixed-media relief portraits that merge painting and sculpture. Through dimensional forms and symbolic characters, I explore psychological presence and quiet guardianship — figures that hold space for what is often unspoken. From my studio in Corby, I continue to develop this evolving body of work, guided by intuition, texture, and emotional depth.
