Cultural Death II Print

My country is going through a slow cultural death and it's foundations are in Colombo. it's capital city. More and more parents want their children to speak English and they send them to international schools of all types and sizes, which has a culture all its own, a little bit British or American according to the syllabus they follow. And the children grow up learning their second language ( English) better than their mother tongue, thus begins the journey to value and uphold all that is foreign and to look down upon all that is Sri Lankan. In my painting I have depicted the Sinhalese with Yellow stripes and the Tamils in Orange stripes as those are the colors that they are identified with in our national flag.
