ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Curlews are declining, however, I am fortunate enough that they frequent where I live and work. Their distinctive call announces the changes in the season and that wonderful long beak makes them an icon of the British countryside. Painted in pastel on velour, curlew rising contrasts the dangers they face with hope of a brighter future for these wonderful birds.
