DC Capitol Building Print

I am a native Kiwi, but I love my adopted country. It’s why I chose to live in the US, even though my family lives half-way around the world in New Zealand. I’ve visited the Capitol Building in DC several times and it has always inspired me. The building is priceless. An enduring symbol of the country’s past and future. A bit about the building: construction began on the Capitol in 1793, but the structure has been built, burnt, reconstructed and extended over the years. It has a neoclassical design style, which pays homage to Ancient Greece and Rome. Ironically — its most identifiable feature — the iconic Rotunda — wasn’t completed for many years after the building was put to use. It has over 600 rooms and is said to cover over 1.5 million square feet.
