About The Artwork
Dasein /dazain/ means 'existence', 'just being there', a term used by German philosophers Hegel and Heidegger. After many experiences with figurative paintings over years, I saw some people with tendency to estimate the images as if they're a real person, not an artwork. I found this quite interesting and did an experiment with this series, in an attempt to free the images from any room for external gaze, judgment or prejudice. These images of body are just 'being' there with fleshes and muscles, breathing and sweating, warm and cold. I used zoomed in images of models, worked with knife and oil so they got rough blunt textures as a sculpture standing with sovereignty even though they're fragments of the whole human body.
