ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A depiction of a great horned owl at the end of a night's hunting, done in black India ink against a background of acrylic and pigment. Owls are natural creatures that don't seem quite possible, and thus an encounter with one can take us out of ourselves for a moment. That moment is what inspires this work. The use of ink on canvas allows for great detail, which is essential for capturing the hypnotic intricacy of feathers or fur or bark.
