ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The fire in my narrative is inspired by Etna, the "Mountain", the volcano that has always been present in my memory, in my native country, in my DNA. The moving presence of the volcano’s plume of smoke that is there, also at night, in solitude and silence. I collected and used paper from street billboards and a paper mache-esque technique to achieve this. The work expresses the tissue of the social times in which we live and shows the fragility of nature. It is signed and dated on the back. Finished with satin acrylic varnish.
