Several times a week, preferably always at the same time in "my forest"... Equipped with a sketchbook, drawing materials, and my camera, I spend one to two hours there. I am a human being – surrounded by nature. I breathe in: fresh air, listen: I hear the wind through the leaves, I smell the rain-drenched humidity and the fir trees, I feel the mist around me, I put one foot in front of the other... Branches crack under my feet. Dead wood at the side of the path. I stop curiously... (Yvonne Hoppe) Nature provides a variety of shapes and colors that are worth marveling at. Yvonne Hoppe is amazed by ramifications: she sees lines, interwoven elements, scattered objects, and intertwined forms in branches and sticks that are found. She favors high-contrast compositions that oscillate between conception and chance. Quote: "The philosophical exploration of the morbid aesthetics of transience and the delicate beauty of growth and emergence in nature inspires me artistically and spiritually." Hoppe-Engbring transforms very familiar objects like branches into abstract forms that primarily emphasize linearity and, through seriation, draw attention to peculiarities in comparative vision. She has been painting for as long as she can remember...but for almost 35 years, Yvonne Hoppe has worked as an illustrator for various international publishers. Since 2020, she has shifted her focus more to freelance artistic work, painting in oil and acrylic in a wide variety of formats, drawing, experimenting with digital image processing, photography, and collage. There are no limits to artistic diversity; she finds the commitment to a specific style restrictive. Yvonne Hoppe lives and works in Steinfurt (near Münster).
