About The Artwork

Deep Sea Adventure He went by the name Simon Smith. An Englishman from the beautiful countryside of Yorkshire in England. A jobless 24-year-old, who yearned for that perfect job, that would support him and his mother and also help pay the bills. Having lived his whole life just off the Yorkshire coast, Simon had taught himself to swim and dive since a very young age. The sea was his haven, his secret get away zone, his retreat to relax his mind, just soak in the silence and be one with this vast expanse of water. He cherished every moment and longed to be an aquatic creature in his next life. Today again, was one of those days of his secret aquatic endeavors. This underwater cave was what he called his underwater treehouse. He had given it a name too - 'Secret Sea Den.' is what he loved calling it. "I'll go meet Larry, James and Henry and be back in an hour and a half", is what he'd say to his mother (who knew who these friends actually were). It was not too deep down in the depths of the sea, and during the daytime he was able to enjoy the soft sunlight penetrating the water. He would swim around just soaking in the silence and enjoying the close affinity of his aquatic companions. They too had got so used to having him around, that a kind of mutual friendship had formed between them, and this peculiar marine creature. After all these years, he was now just one of them. They seemed pleased to have him around, as he never meant them any harm. Surprisingly, they would flock in the SSD (Secret Sea Den as was its abbreviated form), to meet their buddy. Today as he swam around, for some reason unknown to him, no one had turned up. This was a bit surprising and got him thinking about what could have happened. He just swam around for some time waiting for his gang to join him. After about 5 mins, he decided to swim out and have a look around. As soon as he emerged out of the entrance of the den, at a distance he noticed something large on the seabed. All his buddies had flocked around it and were busy trying to investigate. After getting closer to it, he realized that it was a large wooden barrel. On seeing him get closer, all his little marine friends moved away allowing him to investigate this unusual creature, that had just sunk to the bottom and was not moving at all. On trying for some time, Simon realized that it would take some implements in order to open and reveal the contents of this mysterious barrel. After saying 'Goodbye' to Larry, James and Henry, he carried the barrel to the surface of the water. It was definitely a task to get it on shore and home, but he was a strong man. Due to all these years of swimming and diving he had developed a considerable amount of muscle. He placed the barrel in his garage, and proceeded to open it, with whatever tools he had and to his utter surprise, inside was a treasure trove of artifacts. At first, he was elated by the thought of selling this loot and keeping all the money to himself, but on second thoughts, he decided to hand it over to the Department of Cultural Property, Art and Antiquities. Finally diving into the deep sea paid off, and he was handsomely awarded with a large cash prize, and also offered a job in the Department of Lost Artifacts. Now he was their official diver. This Deep-Sea Adventure had definitely changed his life and got him a decent employment, that would pay his bills and support the two of them. I would love all my audience to enjoy the story of Simon's Deep-Sea Adventure and also take home the fact, that being a responsible and honest citizen always pays off Invest in this beautiful artwork. The inclination towards painting and art was a natural transition. Being the daughter of an Architect who was an extraordinary artist himself meant that Ritina was exposed to drawings, precision, structure and expression of art from a very young age. Though, she did engage in painting during her academic years, it was more of a hobby and pass time activity whenever she needed to empty her mind and relax, which just faded away unknowingly as if pushed to the back burner. During her formative years, she engaged in a great deal of painting techniques, like fabric painting, art on pottery, and wooden surfaces, all just a source of enjoyment. It wasn’t till very recent times that she really started pursuing this passion seriously. Her works of art have been sold and gifted to a lot of her friends and family. The recent years have been an interesting journey, where she looks back and see’s the transformation of an amateur to a more professional level as an artist. However, the more interesting part has been her enjoying every single moment of this journey. The more she learns, the more she realizes, how much she does not know about the infinite spectrum of art! Living in the peaceful town of Tennessee, USA, has been a blessing, as it has let Ritina explore and express her creativity through every new piece of art she creates. Losing track of time when engrossed in art is so very true for this artist, who toils for perfection, by giving each piece of artwork her true heart and soul. So rightly said in her own words – “Each piece of my artwork is like a piece of me being reflected through it. They are me in the form of a painting.” Guess it is true that when passion becomes profession, you never work again! A self-taught artist, with no training in the field of art and painting, she has reached her present level of skill through practice and watching other artists at work on the internet. She enjoys using various surfaces, mediums and textures for painting and is always keen to try out something new. Doing commissioned artwork is a challenge which gives her an opportunity to stretch her limits even further. Recently, she ventured into portrait painting too, which is a whole new arena by itself. Basically, her preferred medium has always been acrylics, due to its speedy drying time. Sometimes the use of oils, where blending and creating textures, has always been simpler, also indulges her.
