About The Artwork
This crisp blue and white textured artwork is part of the Banksia series and this artwork is painted in a beautiful cobalt blue reminiscent of the famous Delft Blue pottery. The Banksia tree is found throughout Australia and is known for it's distinctive knobbly,wooden seed pod, which has been highlighted in gold leaf. A muted palette of white, cobalt blue, gold leaf with a tiny black ink . Some of leaves are highly textured collage areas. This artwork is on unstretched canvas - ideal for framing. The canvas measures 131 x 112 cm (51.5" x 44 inches) - it has been cropped to 125 x 106cm ( 49.2" x 41.7") for a visual for framing. The "3cm / 1.2" edge" allows for a neat framing, without losing your picture. The artwork is sealed with varnish, a signature is visible on the RHS of the artwork and reverse of the artwork. Commissions are welcome if you prefer a stretched and ready to hang canvas or larger size. This artwork ships in an oversized hard plastic roll to ensure the texture is not damaged whilst rolled. I paint, I create and make things that make me happy. Sounds simple enough... but maybe that's what it should be. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Zimbabwe and have lived in the UK,USA and Australia. Meeting new people and exploring where I live inspires much of my work. I create in a medium appropriate to the inspiration. My artwork finds expression in oils, acrylics, charcoal, mixed media and glass. I use print making, stenciling, texture, fabric and transfers to create multi-layered tactile pieces. You will find my unique artwork in offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa. I have 14 years of experience consulting on various international projects where the work was created to specification as the majority of the projects required custom made artwork. I understand how to evaluate and select materials that align with aesthetics, compliance and individual needs. I am very comfortable with collaborating on a brief and love the cross pollination of ideas that result from co-designing art work.
