ABOUT THE ARTWORK

4 - Depths of the Seas Hermit crabs, small crustaceans typically known for using mollusk shells for protection, face a concerning situation related to pollution. With the depletion of natural shells on certain beaches due to overfishing and habitat destruction, these animals are increasingly turning to human-generated waste. They can be seen adopting bottle caps, pieces of plastic, or other debris as makeshift shelters.
While this demonstrates their incredible adaptability, it raises concerns about the impact of pollution on marine life. By using these artificial materials, often harmful to their health, hermit crabs are a poignant symbol of the ecological challenges the natural world faces in the face of the omnipresence of human waste in the oceans. This is the symbolism behind this fourth work in the series.

With a background in civil engineering specializing in materials science - a field that allowed me to stay connected to my deep desire to sculpt materials - I have been passionate about art since childhood. Following a career shift started in 2020, creativity now plays a central role in my activities. As a multidisciplinary artist and an innate explorer, I practice numerous techniques and styles. Since October 2023, I have been the dedicated administrator of Art for Corporate, leading creative workshops in businesses. I am currently displaying my paintings and some prints on my gallery, and I will soon be adding my ceramic sculptures.
