ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is in direct dialogue with "The Swing", the most famous painting of Fragonard and one of the most rappresentative painting of the rococò. This style of "frivolous" painting soon became the target of the philosophers of the Enlightenment, who demanded a more serious art which would show the nobility of man. In my paintings the main theme become a pretense to talk about the war a pretext for talking about the war that is continually mixed with other issues so that the people forgets its obscenity.

In my work I play with the narrative possibilities made available by the practice of painting. By the means of representation I sketch stories that does not fully make sense, that don’t necessarily have a logical chain or a plausibility. In my paintings I try to put side by side, overlap and recombine scenes that are part of people’s everyday lives but that come from different times and different places. The characters and the occurrence that I depict come from photographic archives or from journals and magazines. Imagines at the same time anonymous and intimates.The result of this combination is a sort of visual riddle that anyone can resolve and guess, completing the story.
