ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Plucking buttercups and holding them under my chin as a child, my mother would exclaim, "you really like butter". Placing those little flowers made grand in scale under Cleopatra's chin in this reflective pose, shifted the moment of the fatal Asp bite to include a simple childhood memory. A circle of life refection in golden yellow.
