ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Original oil painting on vintage wallpaper mounted on stretched canvas. Dorothy with Turkey is painting number 13 of the series "Disappearing Housewives". In this series I paint women more or less disappearing in, or dissolving with the background/wallpaper while tending to housework. The series is dedicated to the women of the 1950's to 1970’s, who for the most part only worked as housewives.

Born in Cologne, Germany, I began painting and playing music at age three. 1987 I went to New York to study music and arts (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Parsons School of Design, NYC; Master of Arts Degree, Queens College, NYC). I stayed there for almost 20 years, performing concerts worldwide and teaching 11 years at New School University. After returning to Cologne in 2005 I produced several CDs and art/music videos under my own name. Exhibitions and concerts in Germany followed. Since 2012, the emphasis of my work has shifted entirely to visual arts/painting.
