The theme in the painting depicts the internal struggle of opposing elements, the striving for balance of the physical and spiritual essence of human nature. The dynamics of this process, the self-reflection between the two urges, gives rise to a desire for acceptance, self-knowledge, growth. The sacrifice of the journey through change provides a rallying point for the perspective of existence. In Bulgarian (Balkan) folklore, the Dragon (or Zmei, pronounced as in 'snake' but with Z), in addition to being a mythical dragon-like creature, it is also present as a man or woman with special abilities and powers. There is no definite positive or negative character. They can change their shape and traditionally inhabit rocky areas and caves. Often these beings' encounters with the human world are described as heroic, romantic and/or tragic experiences. The style can be defined as spiritual symbolism. Finished in bright contrasting colors, using stylized shapes and symbols. The execution technique gives an original character with its relief base and the use of textured pastes and additionally glued elements. The ultimate rounded edge and corner design allows for hanging without the need for a frame. The stable and strong base and the use of acrylic paints guarantee the longevity of the product. Original artwork made with acrylic paints, appliquéd shells and embossing pastes. The picture is painted on a very stable and strong base of 10 mm waterproof* plywood. Hand finished outer edge with rounded edges and corners. It does not need an external frame. Cover with acrylic varnish. *The front and back are covered with acrylic lacquer.

Creating a work of art for me is a very personal and deeply intimate experience. In the process of creating paintings I try to use holistic analysis and esoteric synthesis. Behind the canvas are often journeys in the spheres of the spirit and emotion, myth and history, abstract and science... That knowledge to me is like the sounds of the words and the silence between them - interconnected and dependent, pulsating. Fantasy, Art, Music, Poetry, Archeology, History, Fiction, Movies, Cartoons ... The style for me is naturally determined by the life of each work or series of works. My aim is to capture and create this energy phenomenon in its various manifestations. Formally, my emotional, intellectual and spiritual quests in art are reflected in a spectrum of impressionism, expressionism, pop-art, abstract art, figurative painting, fantastic realism, and symbolism. My choice of materials is oil and acrylic paints, mixed techniques, computer graphics, photography and sculpture. Vladimir Paskalev Born on 11.03.1977 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
