ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A piece of fabric has many meanings - separating, covering, hiding, obscuring, masking. In art history, curtains refer to any fabric or textiles depicted, which are usually clothing. The schematic representation of the folds and weave patterns of loose-hanging garments on the human form with ancient prototypes has been reworked by Greek vase painters and sculptors of the earliest fifth century as a complement to the female form and has remained an important source of stylistic formulas in sculpture and painting.

In a larger cycle of middle formatted works, titled "(un)written letters", again the topic is the question of human communication. As in letters that can't be read, characters and symbols structure the area of the pictures.
