Traditional silk with gold leaf Hang Trong paintings are the legacy of folklore, created by the spiritual needs of society in Hanoi, Vietnam back then 17th cencuty. Here comes a white peacock – the ancient symbol of royalty, wealthy, dignity, beauty and good luck in Eastern beliefs. I alwasys csan feel the sweet perfume of the flowers that I like in this garden. Peacock painting is also a ceremonial painting in Đạo Mẫu – the worship of Mother Goddesses. With traditional silk painting’s techniques, i bring here an Oriental garden in deep colour palette of Hang Trong painting, old paper and warm light of real gold, since the pattern in feather of peacock represent the chain of ancient coins. The idea of vanitas still life is common in all of my art works, this painting is not an exception. The birds are standing alone, some flowers is going to die while new flowers are coming out. Above all, high on the branch, the racket-taied treepie is just staying calm and resting, keep watching everything and believe in good things that may come.
