About The Artwork

One of the of two-work series depicting personified bouquets of flowers and accompanying them slightly personified furniture. The series was Inspired by Taoist Parable about a monk who saw a dream that he is a beautiful butterfly. And awoke he was not sure if he sleeps at that moment as the butterfly and watches himself as the monk or if he sleeps as the monk and sees himself in his dream as a butterfly. The attempt to convey a sense of constraint by domestic (earthly) circumstances and at the same time to live a flourishing intellectual and spiritual life. Glass balls as a part of the earthly world are conductors Behind, but we must pay attention that the source of light in each of the balls is different, the perspective and optics of each of the balls are their own. Each of the objects distorts reality in its own way. As the bouquet becomes a beautiful cage for itself.

I am a Russian artist based in Sacramento, California. I was born in the Soviet Union, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and lived in Moscow until the political climate of the country became a nightmare. My creative spirit was diminished during this time, but found new life in the United States. I draw upon the traditions of academic art and Impressionism, with a particular focus on the use of color. To me, the color theory is an almost spiritual approach to painting. I try to capture the beauty of the relationship between warm and cold colors, often in night scenes illuminated by moonlight. I wouldn't be able to convey pain and suffering, but rather a timeless atmosphere that viewers can take away and appreciate it as a way of escape.
