There is something exiting about the twisted forms of dry red peppers. They have a sculptural quality, a texture which yearns to be touched. They go beyond the idea of a still life, beyond food, they're a miracle of color, form and character, an exiting phenomenon that's asking to be immortalized.

The world of Alina Gadomski Todorovics art cannot be entered at a whim. If you shrug it off as just another exhibit of still nature which indeed is her point of departure you are missing not only the point, but the very essence. For Alina is a painter of substance, meaning that a picture is the alpha and omega of her communication, still natures (apples, peppers, crumpled paper) being merely an excuse for her coloristic expression. Starting off with various forms she gradually integrates drawing and color, although color is what she draws and thinks with. A pronounced colorist, she uses it to declare her artistic credo. When color exists in its full richness, form exists in its full wholeness, said Paul Czanne.

Controlling her temperament, insisting on keeping a tight reign on her flights of fancy, she manages to draw her viewers into empathic appreciation. Alina is a colorist who thinks as she methodically avoids pretentiousness (except in rare cases of abandon, her unpredictability never crossing the border of good taste), while echoing some of El Grecos sense of the dramatic.

Despite, however, being a born colorist and a master of valeur, Alina revels in mass, underlining volume as she insists on unity of conception, thereby enriching her oeuvres depth, contemplation, resolution, and artistic intensity.

Equally satisfying are her sketches and drawings, being self-referential pieces on their own standing. She draws like a painter, imparting an idiosyncratic density to her entire opus without compromising it at any point.
