This watercolor work explores intimacy as a quiet emotional state rather than a direct act. The intertwined female figures are shown in a moment of complete presence — where touch, breath, and physical closeness become a form of wordless dialogue. I was born in Orenburg, in the Southern Urals of Russia, where my passion for drawing began early. I studied at an art school and continued to develop my skills through private lessons and specialised watercolour courses. Over the past five years, I have focused entirely on watercolour, learning from renowned artists such as Julia Barminova, Eudes Correia, Liu Yi, and Prafull Sawant. A significant moment in my artistic journey came during the course “People in Watercolor” with Eudes Correia and Liu Yi. Their approach helped me see the human body not as a portrait, but as a living structure — full of movement, softness, rhythm, and energy that can be expressed through the fluidity of watercolour. While sensuality and the study of the body are important themes in my work, my practice is not limited to erotic subjects. I am inspired by travel, the ocean, nature, and the unique character of different places — from the vibrant atmosphere of Cuba to the quiet poetry of everyday scenes. Watercolour became my primary medium because of its fluidity and unpredictability. I love how the paint moves with water, creating soft transitions and delicate textures that cannot be replicated in other techniques. It is a demanding material, but its transparency and sense of air give my work a feeling of lightness and immediacy that I find deeply engaging. I now live in Bali, where I continue to deepen my watercolour practice and explore themes of emotion, atmosphere, and the subtle intensity of the human experience.
