You have to spend time with my art to fully understand it. My paintings and animations are puzzles to be solved. Clues nudge the viewer in a specific direction illuminating a specific theme or concept that I want you to think about. Every clue is measured and deliberate. The icons, illustrations and words are key. It is all there, study it, solve it - then you know. I have been influenced by lots of wonderful artists but I draw a lot of inspiration from Mondrian, Lichtenstein, Haring, De Kooning, Hockney, Condo & Basquiat.

THE ICONS, ILLUSTRATIONS AND WORDS ARE KEY, THE COLOUR PALETTE IS SECONDARY TO THE MISSION. IT IS ALL THERE, STUDY IT, SOLVE IT - THEN YOU KNOW. Gray is a Scottish contemporary artist who has always been driven by a passion for art and creativity. Born in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, he spent much of his childhood exploring the great outdoors and soaking up the natural beauty of the area, up hills and in lochs. Gray received his education at Gray's School of Art, where he studied painting, design, and sculpture. He went on to specialize in 3D Design and was awarded the BP Design Award in 2006, the highest accolade possible. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Mondrian, Lichtenstein, Haring, De Kooning, Hockney, Condo & Basquiat, Gray's artistic style is characterized by icons, illustrations, bold colors, black lines, and a careful balance of white space. He has a burning desire within to always be creating and to be an artist. In 2007, Gray sold his first canvas at a summer exhibition titled ‘Just Keep Swimming’ at Aberdeen Art Gallery - unbeknown at the time, Gray would gravitate back to that illustration’s style 17 years later. Gray is passionate about using his art to make a positive impact and to be a good role model for his children. He has something he wants to share, but he wants the viewer to find it. Using blockchain technology as a medium, Gray is embracing the chance to showcase his art as digital animations along with traditional painted canvases.
