ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Elements' is an abstract piece from a series inspired by the earth's elements. In this piece the focus is on fire and earth, with a sense of the layers of the earth changing and the interesting colour contrasts that arrive when fire burns earth and wood. There is no particular figurative aspect to this work, it was achieved by experimenting with colour and layering and scraping away to achieve an effect reminiscent of how nature acts on surfaces.
