Here, an image of myself as an adult is merged down with an image of myself as a child crying. That's why I called this painting "it's weird to not grow up". Memories from the family album and metaphors about the concept of family are united here to merge past and present in an attempt to understand the being, since in the context of the family, oine is as far as they make you. The individual IS as far as it's modeled by it's environment. That's why i work from my experience, as an author and subject, to be able to show the importance that some aspects from my past could have had in my present, creating a narrative about the transicional states in our live. To do this, through the visual collage, I fuse photos from the family albums with images or still lifes from my present to get somtimes disturbing, sometimes tender results.
