About The Artwork

His brow furrows in the burning East African sun as his superior adorns his temple with dyed clay as he prepares for battle. The ostrich feathers which line his crown symbolize bravery and strength. The nervous determination on the face of this Ethiopian Warrior is what inspired me to create his portrait. I felt I must apply the warrior’s face and body paint with my own fingers in order to achieve the most realistic effect possible. Surrounding the image lie thirty different hand-painted Adrinka symbols which I believe convey the characteristics of a good warrior. Notice how the color and placing of each symbol corresponds with the nearest section of the portrait. This original, hand-painted masterpiece is carefully glossed and varnished for maximum resistance to heat, moisture and UV light so that your investment in fine art appreciates over time. All hanging hardware is included and installed so that Ethiopian Warrior is ready for display. Translation of Adrinka Tribal Symbols in order from upper left, counter clock-wise to upper right.
