I was born on 1964 in Belgrade. I graduated in 1986 on the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. I have been exhibiting since 1988 and since that time I've been completely devoted to painting. I am happy that my paintings are spread all over the world: in Serbia, Germany,United Kingdom, Italy, France, Sweden, Finland, USA, Russia, Japan, Uruguay, Lithuania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Austria, Australia, China ,Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal ,United Arab Emirates and Israel.
" After adventures and temptations of avant-gardes, very often negative and destructive experiences, theories, attitudes, manifestos, high-tech noise and rage, postmodernism during last twenty years, one more time painting that addreses to bird, female body, trees, the Moon, grasses and waters is appearing.
Painting of Simonida Djordjevic is apology of the most personal, something that runs in blood and being juices. Although historic and modern references with different form of Arts may be established, her painting is informal, without plan and program, above all may be aesthetic relinquish to instincts, presentiments and visions. This is one specific endeavour in our modern art with the aim to free the picture, and the Art to enter in nature steams, to find wisdom. Personal effort of such painting, appealing, disappears in universal, that characterize every human being. Therefore Simonida Djordjevic painting is sometimes vigorous, shamanic, frantically and aesthetically of high temperature, understanding to sorcerers, kids and lovers, because is beating in fiery blows. So painter takes away consecrated moments from the eternity and saves the best ones.
Sometimes that violence, painting act as ritual, mystery of picture making, pieces of mild harmony, looks like as following the Leonid Shejka idea that again time will come when the sky and ground, grass, clouds and birds will come into the picture. The Art, meaning not nostalgia, recollection, lament fallen, vanished, but the Art as promise, presentiment, premonition of something possible. Something that is very old just as very new.
In her name and in name of the Sun, crowns of a trees and bulls from Crete, the painter rises against all degenerations, degrading, against destroying, hatred and fears. Under all stratums are the last sense of of aesthetic and artistic, the last level of value system, confines that are dividing us from chaos and nihility.
