About Me – Alina Skorokhod I am a Ukrainian artist currently based between the Mediterranean coast and my homeland. My work explores texture as emotional memory — layers of paint become layers of experience. Working primarily in oil with a palette knife, I build surfaces that carry movement, silence, and light. I rarely use references; instead, I paint from internal landscapes — impressions of sea horizons, sun-washed fields, fleeting moments of stillness. Each painting is created through direct gesture and intuition, allowing texture to speak before detail. My artistic journey began in early childhood, with my first personal exhibition at the age of seven. Over the years, I have worked across stage design, performance, and visual storytelling, but painting has remained my central language — the most honest form of expression. Themes of resilience, quiet strength, and belonging appear naturally in my work. Being Ukrainian during this time has deepened my sensitivity to memory, fragility, and hope. Some series subtly reflect this inner dialogue through color, horizon lines, and symbolic warmth. My paintings are held in private collections across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, the UAE, Singapore, Turkey, and Ukraine. I continue to develop series that focus on light, texture, and contemplative space — works designed not only to decorate interiors, but to create atmosphere and emotional presence.
