View In My Room
Painting I did while being in a period trying to make something absolutely unseen and never done before, desperately striving to be original and create my very distinctive style and sort of lock it down only to later realise that thats not really all that necessary and now even understanding that it was also a result of some continuous feedbacks of alleged "biting", so my initial reaction I guess was to totally go in other direction and first of all prove myself that I could indeed make something that could never be judged as something inauthentic..that period gave birth to a series that combines and blends genres, styles, techniques and mediums that were feeling very true to my artistic individuality and sort of very different and far from each other, yet blending nicely together, like cubism (that I would had done first time ever and graffiti spilling and dripping, making layers upon layers in one composition that almost feels coming in and out of each other, like in this piece, also having some sort of a centre but still giving off the eternal infinite impression - therefore the name of the piece. In that series the ideas also were have tried to be generated with the utmost universal and undefined perspective. This was quite an experience but now I guess the quote that comes to mind is mostly - "if you don't wanna be judged by nobody - say nothing, do nothing, be nothing." So in attempts to actually find one's own individuality and style through being most dissolved and undefined, having no edges and nothing to grab onto, denying the truth of everything in existence being kind of ever mutually influencing and co-inspired one can only go so far until it becomes unbearable and he shall accept himself and return to himself, embracing whatever it is that makes up his being and the essence of who he is. KMST (artkmst), currently based in Belgrade, Serbia, has been a full time artist for about ten years, starting off in London, UK, making and selling art worldwide, at various periods having his studio located in different cities around the world. He has had a number of art shows—solo and collaborative, also participated in public art shows and fairs, international charitable, fashion and entertainment gala events, performed painting live on stage, was featured on large media platforms, magazines and TV channels, represented and worked with big brands and companies, has held private and open shows in major cafes, hotels and galleries, with clientele spanned across the world and various professional affiliations including well known artists, businessmen, cultural presenters and actors from across the globe. His art reflects the versatility of what one’s art can be and how it doesn't have to be limited and narrowed down to something exact and particular, being rather multifaceted, seasonal or eventual, yet still intentional and recognisable, combining features of genres and techniques that Artkemist picked up along the way to later incorporate into his works developing and pursuing his own creative methodology and solid stylistic integrity, showing strong devotion to one’s character and individuality. His art includes elements of abstract, contemporary pop, graffiti, expressionism, mixed media, collages, cubism, graphics, lettering etc. in some proportions and variations. His works mostly consist of canvas and wooden panel paintings, paper drawings, toys and sculptures, as well as high quality prints sometimes embellished or even completely reimagined, coming in wide variety of sizes. Artkmst’s mediums of choice are generally acrylics, oil pastel, spray paint, markers but sometimes it could incorporate some unusual selection of items like precious stones, gold, money bills and cut outs, paper pins, coffee, wine or whiskey spill. Though acrylics on canvas is what he tends to work with most often.
