View In My Room
Straddling the line between abstraction and representation, this painting explores the elemental power and mystery of the sea, while asserting the tactile quality of paint and mark-making for it's own sake. Oil over acrylic on cradled board. 1.5" deep, painted sides, wired and ready for hanging.

Born 1948 in Oregon, USA. Lived five years in Arizona and seven in California. Currently living in Vancouver, Washington. I'm a professional artist and muralist with many years experience. My paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the country. I have also completed numerous murals and public projects in communities and locales across the United States and Canada. My career has developed in a somewhat unconventional way, as over the years two distinct styles have emerged and seem to want to persist: a traditional style of quite literal realism and, side by side, a more intuitive one that might be described as a species of hybrid abstraction.
