This painting to me, is a classic wide view of a mountainous landscape. I am interested in contrasting the stillness of mountains with movement of paint and brushstrokes on canvas. It is an explosion of color onto the textured white background, hence the title. The original painting is no longer available.

Thien believes that growing up in a culturally diverse neighborhood helped him keep an open mind on how to live our daily lives as well as important factors/issues. He believes that has a big influence on how he creates his own artwork. Thien specializes in abstract landscapes, mostly involving mountainous terrain because of their natural abstract shapes.
