ABOUT THE ARTWORK

MARGHERITA PASQUAL VENICE - ITALY Margherita Pasqual was born and lives in Venice, a young emerging eclectic artist graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Venice in figurative arts with honors, a long course of study with a classical imprint characterized, in her case, by contemporary contaminations by actively attending the dynamic Venetian art context. Her art reaches an expression that is considered modern, contemporary and original, while retaining the poetics of some artistic movements of the past. The mastery of the wet on wet technique is one of the dominant characteristics of the creative vein peculiar to the artist's most recent works. Through the material she probes the form and rediscovers it, modernizes it, makes it understandable because she dwells on the stroke of light, on the expression and cut of the scene extrapolated from the reference context. Pasqual's works achieve a very refined sensitivity to light, which is articulated in two moments: the portrait dominated by the gaze of the represented subject and fielded on a dark background, is matched by the lower part of the work of uniform and controlled luminosity to counterbalance the image. Here she dominates not so much the color as the shape which is deliberately limited to the trunk, with an out-of-scale emphasis of the neck and an absence of the arms just mentioned up to the height of the humerus. Clear interpretation of the human figure seen as a function of the value and plastic significance of its volumes. They are representations of figures that probe the feminine present in every human being, which would be more appropriate to define them with the term "Gender Fluid", due to the evident nature of the androgynous appeal. Observing her works in general is like plunging into the fantastic earthly journey of the soul, to discover possible or probable worlds in which everything becomes beauty. And her beauty is embodied by her in the fluid image that becomes a male-female synthesis in an atmosphere wrapped in the aura of intimate beauty. Margherita Pasqual's works are decidedly suggestive, they are portraits with a modern imprint that recall at the same time the famous classical and neoclassical works of art, inspired by the great masters, the artist has elaborated a series of oils on canvas painted with his own personal technique wet on wet of absolute charm.
